(A true life story) It was a cold night in August,  the part of the year in Nigeria when the year is known to be at its prime. Apart from the momentary lightening that appears and abruptly vanishes, the night was so thick and the sky was coal.               The wind blew so hard that the windows rattled in their frames. Rolls of thunder could be heard quite some distance away as it runs closer. At the blast of the thunder strike just over the house and the house shook at its effect. This Is Our Best Easter In Nearly A Decade - BORNO CAN

The Christian Association of Nigeria (CAN) yesterday praised the efforts of the military for decimating Boko Haram insurgents so much Christians can celebrate Easter in Borno State without curfews and barricades. The Chairman of the Borno State chapter of the association, Bishop Mohammed Naga, said it was Borno State’s first Easter in a peaceful atmosphere in nearly a decade. Naga stated in a message during the NAF Day 2017 Celebration on the theme, ‘Consolidating Air Power Gains For Enduring Peace and Development,’ in Maiduguri yesterday, that the Christian community was grateful to God and the military for successfully fighting the ‘enemies of this country.’ He said: “It is the most peaceful Easter celebration we have had for the previous years. Since 2009, this year’s Easter is the most peaceful. Sometimes we celebrated Easter indoors, no vehicular movements, no visitations of friends. Nigerian Government Lauds The Whistle Blower Campaign

Looking back from the inception of the whistle blower campaign, the Federal Government of Nigeria has seen the policy as one in the right step as visible progress have been evident. The minister of information and culture, Lai Mohammed in a statement in Lagos on Saturday said Nigerians are indeed eager in the fight against corruption as they have been instrumental in the realization of the looted funds. He thanked Nigerians for this effort. He further reassured citizens who have useful information on looted funds that their identity will be protected and they will receive the stipulated rewards.

Violence in ile Ife again

Violence in ile Ife agaim Apr 1, 20  This is happening only a few weeks after the initial clash between the yorubas and the fulanis in the ile-ife community. The report has it that  the clash broke out on Friday, March 31 in Ife North Local Government Area of Osun. No fewer than ten people were injured in the fresh violence. The fresh clash was said to be between the people of Ipetumodu and Asipa communities in Ife North Local Government Area of the state. The clash reportedly started on Wednesday evening shortly after an alleged misunderstanding that broke out after an inter house sports football competition in the Community High School Ipetumodu, not far away from Asipa. Youths from both communities were allegedly involved in the fight. Some unidentified youths were said to have taken advantage of the face-off between the students and set ablaze the popular Akinola Market in Asipa a development that escalated the crisis between the two communities.
