"He Was The Nicest Man Ever....After He Raped me I Didn't Know Where To Begin" : A True Story Anonymously shared.

  • Hello friends....how did the weekend go?
  • Mine was fine. Had not a single place to go to. Maybe somewhat boring.
  • Sorry I had nothing up here through out. It was due to one thing or the other.
  • So thanks to God it's a new week and a new slate to begin on.
  • One of the things I'll be bringing before us today is the issue of sexual harassment. Sexual harassment is defined as unwelcomed sexual advances, request for favour and other verbal or physical conduct of a sexual nature when submission is a condition affecting academic or employment decisions. We can then say that sexual harrasment can come from a superior to the subordinate like in teacher to student, master to slave.
  • Subordinates are often times being thrown into this dilemma by their superiors and its even more so because they are going to be at the lossing side.
  • Owing to this, superiors hold these subordinates to victimize them or keep them at ransom because they really have no much choice.
  • Before us today is the story of a lady thrown into this dilemma by her boss.
  • She told this story to Biri.ng an organisation that fights for the justice of the sexually abused.

  • " I did okay in University, I had good grades and eventually graduated with a 2:1 from OAU.
If anyone knows anything about Federal Universities, you know how difficult it is to finish with a 2:1,. When you add that to the OAU factor, you can tell that I worked really hard for my results. Despite my work in school and or preparation for the outside world. Nothing got me ready for the extreme difficulty I faced when I began looking for a job. I had a good result from a good school, so why were employers not falling over my applications? Yawa burst when my mum fell ill. My dad had spent all his retirement savings trying to fend for the family and foot the hospital bills, then I knew that I should just apply for anything and manage whatever I get. That's how I began working with Mr R. He said when I sent my CV, he thought, why would a brilliant girl like this be looking for a job and instantly wanted to speak with me. Long story short, I became both his receptionist and PA. It was a small law firm, so I would take his calls, book appointments and sometimes, when I had back up, follow him for meetings.
He was really kind. As you can imagine, I was immensely grateful. He was my saviour and he knew it. I told him about my mum's situation and he became even more caring. Which was very surprising when one day, he suddenly started acting cold. I was so confused. What had I done?😱 I finally summoned the courage to ask. He told me, I didn't know how to show gratitude. I had an inkling but I refused to believe it. Mr R was the nicest person ever. This was after everyone had gone, so he decided to show me how to be grateful. After he raped me. I wasn't sure where to begin. Nobody would believe me. He was my family's saviour. He had been nothing but Mr Nice."

  • That was her story. Hmmm... a tough one isn't it? Are you gong to bite the hand that fed you? Should she have told some one about it? He was Mr nice no one might believe her. Not even her family probably. This is an example of sexual harassment women face in their work place. Its really a frustrating one.

Helen was at the back of her house tending in a little garden she had made and tending her pumpkin seedlings as has become her morning and evening routine. For a retiree like her, hobbies like this is one of what keeps one going. The evening was chill and the neighborhood was rather quiet. Helen thought it could be that most people aren't back from their day's activities yet. They lived in a neighborhood where you mind your business and face your gate. The only sounds you hear from around were the sounds of car horns when they got back from work in the evenings and when they left in the mornings. Helen heard the door of the refrigerator in the kitchen slammed. Sophie must have woken up she thought. "Mummy good evening " the voice was not Sophie's but that of her elder daughter Evie. "Oh... i thought it was your sister" she rubbed her forehead with the back of her hand "you're early today" Evie stood by the door that led to the b
